Introduction to Restorative Counseling

Why Counseling Is Broken & What Must Change

8 Weeks4 Credits4 Modules4 Assessments

Course Overview

This is the course that changes everything. Before you can practice the Arukah model, you must understand why existing models fail. You will study Freud, Jung, Rogers, and Maslow — brilliant minds who were themselves deeply broken — and learn why their frameworks, while containing truth, ultimately fail to heal the spirit. You will examine church counseling — well-meaning but often limited to "pray more and have faith" — and see why good theology alone is not enough. You will study African traditional counseling — rich in cultural wisdom but lacking the power to address spiritual roots. Then you will encounter the Arukah alternative and receive a foundational overview of the 6-R Restoration Model that will become your primary tool as a Soul Restorer.
